Live Off the Grid Free From the Power Company

How does the prospect of living free of the power company, being able to sustain your own energy source sound? This is something that is obtainable by all, if you are willing to be adventures and seek out alternative energy sources. Living off the grid as they call it gives you the freedom of reduced to no energy bills and the feeling of being able to take care of your self.

You can benefit from helping the environment by not adding to the pollution. You would not be dependent on the power company - if the power goes out you can still function. And, you will have more money in your pocket each month because of your reduced electric bill.

If you were to use the abundant power available from the sun and wind to light your home and cook your food, you could use your electricity all day long and not add to your energy bill. If you had a farm, setting up a wind mill could provide a portion of your power along with a solar power setup.

For the home, solar power is probably the best option to use. Wind mills require more space for operation and a solar power system does not take up so much space. You could place your solar panels on the roof or out away from your house if you have room.

You would be able to save electricity for future use by way of deep cycle rechargeable batteries that you have set up with your system. You would be able to build either the wind mill or solar power system on your own with the help of a good manual and some basic mechanical skills. It would be much cheaper for your initial costs this way.
